Historic Stagville includes the remnants of the one of the largest plantations in North Carolina. The Bennehan-Cameron family owned approximately 30,000 acres of land, where over 900 people were enslaved. Stagville state historic site now protects 165 acres of the original land, 4 original slave dwellings, a massive barn, and a family house. Open Tue-Sat 9am-5pm Closed Sun., Mon. & most major holidays
Admission & self guided tours are free. Guided tours: $2 adults, $1 children & seniors.
