View a wide variety of artworks, from revered classic paintings and sculptures to modern photographs and textile works, in this nationally-acclaimed facility that was expanded two years ago. Tour the Rodin sculpture court and garden area, visit the gift shop, have lunch in the cafe or find inspiration from nature on the walking trails.
Admission is free to the Museum of Art's permanent collections and the outdoor park; fees are charged for some special exhibits and programs. The buildings are closed on Mondays and five major holidays.
This state art museum is part of the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources (www.ncdcr.gov) along with the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem. Events at these museums, as well as state history museums and historic sites, are listed at www.ncculture.com.
