The Grout Museum features permanent and continually changing exhibitions of area history, regional flora and fauna, and the only public planetarium in Northeast Iowa, which holds weekly shows. If you are studying astronomy this year the Grout Museum in Waterloo has some great additions to your curriculum. Four of the homeschool workshops which they offer the first Wednesday of every month have to do with the subject of astronomy. They also offer star gazing parties where you can use their telescopes and learn about the stars as they point out what is available to see. Great opportunities for homeschoolers.
