The museum has displays showing and allowing visitors to actually experience the history of Michigan from the time of the Native Americans to the present day. A three story relief map of Michigan shows land features and topography. There are 26 permanent exhibits, some with interactive components such as fur trading, mining, logging, a one room schoolhouse, etc. Free general admission. Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, 1 to 5
p.m.
Excellent museum and definitely worth the visit.
